You Are Not Alone

Have you ever felt alone; stranded on the seashore of loneliness, abandoned, forgotten, ignored or invisible?

I have.

But I have learned in those moments that my FEELINGS CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

My feelings are as fickle as the changing tides. My feelings come and go. My feelings deceive me. My feelings lead me astray. My feelings will break my own heart and crush my spirit as waves crashing upon the rock. My feelings will cause me to sink into the sand of despondency; a place of lowness, hopelessness and downheartedness.

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Jeremiah 17:9

So when you find yourself in this sinking place, where do you turn for solid ground?

God’s Word says:

He who trusts confidently in his own heart is a [dull, thickheaded] fool, But he who walks in [skillful and godly] wisdom will be rescued.

Proverbs 28:26

We are to trust not in our own heart. We are to walk in godly wisdom.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

We are to not fear. God is with us and He will help us.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

We are to know and believe that God will save us. He will quiet our restless soul.

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

John 14:18

We are to believe that God will not leave us. He will come.

Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20

We are to hold on to the hope that God is with us forever.

God’s word is solid truth!
And only HIS FEELINGS about you can be fully trusted.

God’s word is constant and true. It is unchanging. It is concrete. It is a solid rock that we can stand on. Even when we feel alone and we cannot sense His presence, we can trust that God is still with us.

We are not abandoned. We are not without hope. We are not alone.

So shift your eyes away from the sinking sand (the place of despondency) and the breaking waves (the circumstances that continually crash upon you). Turn and stand upon the Rock- the constant and true living Word of God (Christ Himself) who promises to be with His children both now and forever.

You are not alone.
And the Word of the Lord endures forever.

The Word Made Flesh

14 And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).

John 1:14 AMP

But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is the word [the good news of salvation] which was preached to you.

1 Peter 1:25 AMP

Maybe you are in a place where you feel alone. Maybe you feel that you have sunk too far and you are without hope. You believe you have sunk to a point where you feel trapped in quick sand and the more you try to fight to free yourself, the deeper you go down to the pit. Your spirit has reached an all time low. And now you are in a mess of trouble.

I have some good news for you!

Listen to the Word of the Lord.

I waited a long time for the Eternal; He finally knelt down to hear me. He listened to my weak and whispered cry. 2 He reached down and drew me from the deep, dark hole where I was stranded, mired in the muck and clay. With a gentle hand, He pulled me out To set me down safely on a warm rock; He held me until I was steady enough to continue the journey again. 3 As if that were not enough, because of Him my mind is clearing up. Now I have a new song to sing— a song of praise to the One who saved me. Because of what He’s done, many people will see and come to trust in the Eternal.

Psalm 40:1-3 VOICE

Turn to the Word of the Lord and follow its teaching and instruction and receive its promises.

When you feel as if you are trapped in quick sand follow these steps (Keys to the Kingdom):
  1. Cry out for help (cry out to the Lord).

  2. Get your feet out of the sand (the sand of despondency- the place of no hope).

  3. Lighten your load. Get rid of heavy baggage you are carrying (surrender all).

  4. Work at moving backwards away from the dangerous place you were headed (change course- get back on The Path of Life & Light, the Way of Wisdom & Truth).

  5. Lean back and relax. Don’t panic and struggle. Be patient (wait on the Lord).

Cry out to the Lord and He will rescue you! He will set you free! He will lift you up!

He will clear your hopeless thoughts and replace them with a new song of praise. And many will see what He has done for you and come to trust in Him!

At times His rescue comes quickly, at other times we have to wait for it.

But rest assured. He is with you and promise to save you and lift you up out of the pit of darkness and bring you into the Light of His glorious presence.

Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord.[a] Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!

Psalm 27:14

HIS FEELINGS FOR YOU CAN BE TRUSTED!

You Are Not Alone.

LOVE is always near.

Footprints In The Sand

Author: Carolyn Joyce Carty

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
